How it works and what technology is used
At the heart of the solution is an application head carried by a robot or cobot, connected to a melter via a heated hose. The Quality Control module monitors either the position of the applied adhesive on the product or the amount of adhesive applied, depending on the end customer's requirements. The system integrates with any robot (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Universal Robots, and others) and can be deployed in new or existing production.
Path design and head selection
Based on the part and bond type, we choose the application head (bead, spray, swirl) and design the application path.
Integration with the robot / cobot
A robot integrator connects the head to the robot via an integration kit and visualisation; with cobots, simply teaching the path is enough.
Robotic adhesive application
The robot guides the head along the path (or brings the part to a fixed head) and applies a precise amount of adhesive.
Pattern control and repeatability
Quality control, together with full adhesive application control by the higher-level PLC, ensures the same, repeatable result on every piece – even at a fast rate.
