Maintaining a constant adhesive temperature along the entire length of the heated hose is a technical challenge. Performa masters this challenge thanks to top-class insulation and the sophisticated winding of the heating conductors. As a result, no local overheating of the adhesive occurs if production is stopped for a while. The reliability and precision of adhesive application thus increase, because the viscosity of the adhesive remains at the optimum level.
The PrimeConnect plug-in connection optimally heats and insulates the critical connection points between the hose ends and the melter or application head. This eliminates otherwise common thermal bridges. The viscosity of the adhesive remains unchanged, which is an important prerequisite for even and consistent adhesive application onto products and for achieving the required joint.
PrimeConnect - quick and correct installation of heated hoses
PrimeConnect is a connection that enables the easy and safe attachment and removal of Performa heated hoses without special tools. PrimeConnect saves time especially in applications that require mobile use of gluing systems or frequent modifications to the production line, for example in seasonal production.
The depressurised heated hose can rotate freely on the connection. This ensures good access during installation and removal of the hose, which is particularly useful when several heated hoses are connected to an adhesive distributor. By pulling out the locking slide, the heated hose can be easily disconnected from the plug-in screw connector. This can be installed on melters and application heads at angles of 0°, 45° and 90°. The PrimeConnect connection replaces the usual connection using screw fittings. Leaks on the heated hose due to over-tightening of the union nut and the resulting production downtime are now a thing of the past.
Performa reduces operating costs
Performa's energy-efficient design pays off. Compared with other commonly available heated hoses, Performa requires up to 45 % less energy in operation and is ready for operation up to 30 % faster. The time needed to suspend production is thus noticeably shortened. Performa heated hoses retain a long service life and prevent unpleasant surprises. Full insulation and even temperature distribution ensure that the adhesive does not degrade and the application head remains functional.
CoolTouch - operator safety
The operation and maintenance of the equipment is protected against burns thanks to the PrimeConnect connection. The connection points are completely covered by the CoolTouch insulation layer, so contact with a hot metal part cannot occur. The outer temperature of the heated hose reaches a maximum of only 54 °C at an internal adhesive temperature of 200 °C and is therefore harmless to the touch.
Performa - area of use
The Performa hose is suitable for thermoplastic hot melt adhesives (EVA, PSA, PO) and reactive adhesives (PUR). The smooth surface of the hose is abrasion-resistant and easy to clean. Performa is compatible with melters and application heads manufactured after 2000. The connections can be supplemented with adapters with a threaded connection. This makes it possible to upgrade even existing adhesive application systems for higher performance, safety and lower operating costs.
