Volta guarantees stable adhesive application
Volta is an electric application head that ensures reliable adhesive application over 2 billion operating cycles. It requires little maintenance because it has no dynamic seals. Thanks to its compact steel and aluminium construction, it is also durable. Volta meets IP55 protection, which means it is protected against external influences such as a jet of water or dust from cardboard. This application head is therefore suitable for demanding conditions, such as those found in the packaging, food or pharmaceutical industries.
With Volta technology you save 60 % energy
The Volta application head is an economical application head in several respects, which can lead to a rapid return on investment. Compared with the pneumatic SX application head, Volta achieves energy savings of approximately 60 %. This is because the electric application head does not require compressed air. This reduces operating costs, because compressed air systems are maintenance-intensive and expensive to run. Volta can be easily integrated into new and existing systems. A remote electronic module with a 24 V DC interface enables direct control without an amplifier.
Thanks to a switching frequency of 200 Hz and 2 billion operating cycles, Volta is suitable for adhesive application with intermittent application. The bead application is replaced by the application of small dots. Compared with bead application, intermittent application can save up to 60 % of adhesive. The application head does not require compressed air and is therefore pleasantly quiet - 60 dB(A). Another advantage over pneumatic application heads is low wear despite high switching frequencies. This reduces maintenance work to a minimum.
Precise adhesive application even at high switching frequencies
Thanks to the electric drive with a switching frequency of 200 Hz, the Volta application head produces precise and repeatable adhesive application with a precise bead edge. This ensures process stability. Volta also achieves excellent application quality thanks to the even temperature distribution in the application head. In addition, innovative insulation protects the nozzle from draughts. This ensures consistent adhesive viscosity all the way to the nozzle.
The integrated adhesive filter in the heating block reduces nozzle clogging and thus downtime. So that the adhesive quantity remains constant throughout the service life of the application head, the stroke can be adjusted manually if required.
CoolTouch: Protection of operators and products
The Volta application head is fully equipped with CoolTouch insulation as standard, including for the multi-nozzle version. Volta is also equipped with green contact protection on the holder. The CoolTouch insulation protects operating personnel against burns in the event of accidental contact. Thanks to the reduced heat radiation, heat-sensitive products such as chocolate or medicines are also protected during adhesive application.
