How Kaletech solves it
We wrap the pallet in stretchable kraft paper instead of stretch film. Because paper has no adhesion of its own, the layers are bonded during wrapping by a spray application of cold glue – precisely metered, with a wide application pattern and minimal consumption. The wrap keeps the goods stable in transit and storage, and at depalletising it comes off in one piece with a single cut.
For multipacks and consumer packs there is the paper band: a strong paper strip with a hot melt bead on the overlap replaces the plastic film of the secondary packaging. We design and fine-tune both variants directly for your packaging line.

How it works and what technology is used
Unlike stretch film, paper is not self-adhesive – which is why precisely controlled cold glue application plays the key role. Spray application produces a wide adhesive pattern at minimal consumption, and thanks to the constant application width no adhesive ends up in the machine or its surroundings. The water-soluble adhesive is also temperature resistant and does not hinder recycling – the paper wrap goes into the recycling stream in one piece.
For the paper band, a strip of paper with high tensile strength is cut to size, a hot melt bead is applied to the overlap and the bonded sleeve is slipped over the multipack. The pack then holds together and remains stable throughout the supply chain.
Gripping the paper
During the first wrap around the pallet, a mechanical gripper holds the paper web in place.
Start of adhesive application
As soon as the paper first overlaps, cold glue application starts and the gripper retracts.
Continuous bonding of the wraps
A spray application of cold glue is applied continuously to the lower part of the paper web, bonding the individual layers together.
Securing the paper end
Before the final half wrap, adhesive is also applied to the upper part of the web so that the end of the paper is firmly fixed to the wrap.
