Perfect Fold - Reference letter from MODEL AG

Model develops, manufactures and supplies smart, innovative and high-quality, durable packaging made of solid and corrugated cardboard. The Model Group employs approximately 4,600 people at 15 European branches. The company's headquarters are located in Weinfelden, Switzerland.

In the 1950s, demand grew for corrugated cardboard, which was very light and stable compared with other packaging and transport materials. The company therefore began to specialise in the production of corrugated cardboard, which it continuously expanded under the leadership of Otto Model Jr. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, Model recognised the opportunity of new markets in Eastern Europe and acquired its first plant in the Czech Republic. Others soon followed.

Model invests substantial sums every year in order to remain at the forefront of technological development on the market. At the same time, it places emphasis on high quality and sustainable production.

Model AG had been in discussions with Robatech for some time about optimising the production of corrugated cardboard packaging. When we learned of the possibility of applying a softening liquid into the fold line to make box folding easier, we immediately asked Robatech for a test device.

Robatech installed the Perfect Fold softening-liquid applicator on a line for gluing folding boxes.
The very first tests showed that Perfect Fold brought a marked improvement in folding quality. The SpeedUp liquid prevents gaps between box flaps and their overlapping. Even cracking of the folds was significantly reduced. Our goal is to eliminate cracking entirely in the future through further optimisations.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the Perfect Fold system has improved quality, in some cases increased output, and significantly shortened the set-up time for difficult products.
Commissioning the Perfect Fold system was straightforward and the equipment worked immediately. Our operators were able to use it fully after only brief training.

The test system impressed us straight away. The efficiency of the Perfect Fold system is truly impressive. That is why we decided to equip all our folding-carton production lines with the Robatech Perfect Fold system.
