Moving from a manual workstation to an automated line allowed Leifheit to save a quarter of its adhesive costs and free up production staff for other tasks.
Automated ironing-board gluing

Assignment

Leifheit wanted to automate its existing process of gluing ironing boards, which was carried out using a manual applicator gun. The goal was to replace manual gluing with a faster and more economical solution while maintaining the quality of the bond.

Solution

Kaletech designed an automated production line with fixed application heads that dispense the adhesive in a precise, constant amount and at a faster production cycle. The complete gluing equipment was supplied by Robatech technology.

Results

Thanks to the new solution, the customer saved a quarter of its adhesive costs and freed up staff previously tied to the manual process for other production tasks. At the same time, automation increased the stability and repeatability of the glued bond.

“The goal was to replace the manual gluing of ironing boards with a faster and more economical solution – and we succeeded. Robatech supplied the complete gluing equipment, thanks to which we saved a quarter of our adhesive costs as well as production staff. I believe the cooperation will continue on further Leifheit projects too.”
